Dr. Angela Ovakimyan
PhD/CA LMFT #128590

Angela Ovakimyan, PhD., LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with advanced training from the California School of Professional Psychology, where she earned both her master’s degree and doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy.

 

She has worked with a wide range of clients, including children, foster youth, young adults, college students and older adults, and brings deep compassion and clinical expertise to every stage of life. Her areas of specialization include depression, anxiety, and the impacts of intergenerational and historical trauma.

 

Dr. Ovakimyan’s doctoral research focused on acculturation and its effects on second-generation Armenian Americans, reflecting her strong interest in cultural identity, resilience, and the immigrant experience. She draws from the symbolic-experiential model and integrates practical CBT tools to help clients navigate challenges.

 

Her therapeutic style centers on meeting clients where they are and exploring the relational dynamics that shape our lives and relationships. Whether addressing individual struggles or family patterns, she works collaboratively to support healing, growth, and greater connection.
